The holidays came early this year for Juliane when she received a visit from celebrity cook Paula Deen. Paula was in town for a book-signing event at Sam's Club in Bentonville, just one stop on her national book tour.
Paula and her husband Michael took a break from their hectic schedule to kick back with the Pfeffer family and enjoy a home-cooked meal before flying back to their hometown of Savannah, Georgia.
Juliane welcomed her celebrity guests by preparing five of Paula's recipes and two of her own. After tasting Juliane's original brisket recipe, Paula said that it was so good she could "slap somebody!"
After dinner, Paula and Juliane exchanged cooking, entertaining and business tips while decorating the Pfeffer's home for the upcoming holiday season.
Earlier in the day, while Paula signed books at Sam's Club, Juliane gave out samples of her new Lemon Jewels cookie. She passed out over 1,000 samples to hungry fans who had spent hours waiting in line for the chance to meet Paula and get their cookbooks signed.
Juliane's Lemon Jewels are fresh-baked and offered exclusively through Sam's Club. The cookie, her first product on the market, is a buttery, lemon-iced treat perfect for entertaining.
"I am so honored that Paula took time out to come and see me and my family," says Juliane. "She is just a wonderful lady. She is a friend and an inspiration, and cooking for her was such a great experience. It's not everyday a celebrity cook compliments me on my recipes!"
